Alyssa Reece: the festival history of After Eden
Reece’s performance as Eve reached festival audiences through After Eden. The production’s records and original festival publications document these screenings.
San Sebastián, September 2015
After Eden had its world premiere in the New Directors competition at the 63rd San Sebastián International Film Festival. It was Hans Christian Berger’s first feature and Reece’s first leading role in a feature film.
The festival diary discussed the film on September 26, 2015. Its account identified Reece as Eve and also used the professional name Tanya Pankov.

The production’s gallery includes a photograph naming producer Tyler Deck, actor Cameron Crosby, director Hans Christian Berger and actress Alyssa Reece at San Sebastián. It records Reece’s presence alongside her collaborators.
Other production photographs show the film being screened in rooms 4, 5 and 6 at the Antiguo Berri cinema. The images document the exhibition of the film as well as the team’s visit.
Transilvania, May 2016
The original AperiTIFF programme for May 29, 2016 lists After Eden in the No Limit section, under the Romanian title După Eden. The scheduled screening was at 20:00 in Cinema City 4.
The entry names Berger and lists an eighty-minute Canadian film. This was a later festival screening of the same feature in which Reece played Eve.
